Look What I Found (textile edition)!

I’m sitting here, snuggled with my fam, “watching” the Super Bowl and snacking on potato chips.  Cassidy is absent because she is upstairs doing homework, but she did come down to watch Justin Timberlake in the half-time show.

I’m only mildly interested in the game this year, since our Seahawks are not participating, although since seeing a cute elderly man say that he’s been waiting his whole life to see the Eagle’s win the Super Bowl, I’ve become an Eagle’s fan.

While I’m lounging, I thought I’d share a few great things I’ve found lately.

Heads up:  This post contains some affiliate links, which means I’m compensated if you click on one of the product links and end up making a purchase, however you won’t pay any more for the product.

I aim to be a good friend, and friends don’t withhold fab finds from their friends ;).  Ok, now that we have the legal formalities out of the way…

After the ordeal, I did some research to find bedding that would be comfy and chemical free.  I discovered Oeko-Tex 100 Certified textiles.  Oeko-Tex certification is a worldwide standard that ensures that a textile has been tested for several hundred harmful substances, which helps me sleep better at night (pun intended).

For our bed, we ordered this down comforter, and recommend it for its coziness without being too heavy.  We put it inside a duvet cover that I found at Pottery Barn, which also carries Oeko-Tex Certified bedding and towels (our duvet cover is sold out now, so I won’t list it here).  If you’re in the market for a comforter, check it out…

We also ordered this mattress pad, and although it’s not oeko-tex certified, it is 100% cotton, including the fill and backing (you’re welcome, I searched HIGH and low!).  It’s exactly what I was looking for and I haven’t had any trouble with it.

These next two 3 items can all be found at Target, and I don’t receive any compensation for linking them here.  They are all Oeko-Tex certified, and the fact that stores like Target are mainstreaming safe textiles tells me something.  As people reach chemical saturation from every direction, a great way to give ourselves a break is to pay careful attention to what we surround ourselves with for hours on end each night.
